Misty was phenomenal as a Facilitator, she was unbiased in her approach and research-based which was great. She was empathetic, I felt she spoke equally to moms-to-be and partners and didn't make it all about the moms which was a relief. She answered every question the participants had, she was knowledgeable beyond my expectations!

It was nice to be at home and be able to adjust our computer, seating, etc. at our leisure.

We loved Julia, she’s a great instructor, keeps the class entertaining while supplying lots of information to overwhelmed expecting parents. She’s straightforward and fun and the class is very inclusive for dads too, which is greatly appreciated. Thank you Julia!

Julia was extremely knowledgable and friendly. We loved that she remained neutral about all the interventions and methods of caring for baby and mom. If she has any biases, they were not obvious, and we thought that that was really great. She made us feel safe and welcome and confident in any of the choices we might have to make when we deliver our baby.

Erin was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Her immense knowledge, calm demeanor, and insight was so helpful. So so so glad we had Erin as our teacher!!!

The OCEA pre-natal classes are extremely valuable for first-time expecting parents. The information is shared in a very open, practical and fact-based manner without any judgement attached. It's easy to get overwhelmed by all the advice and research that is out there, but the OCEA classes really manage to distill this information and present it in a clear and structured way. The instructors are very experienced and knowledgeable and are great inter-personally. We were particularly impressed by how they handled giving online classes during the pandemic. They also provide a lot of Ottawa-specific information on the amazing resources that are available here. This was particularly useful to us as newcomers. We have many friends who have given birth in other countries, and when telling them about our experience with OCEA they have all said that nothing like this was available to them and it would have been so useful. Overall, we would highly recommend taking these classes.

Very fun and informative! Lily made online learning more community like than we thought possible! It was great to experience online learning from the comfort of our own home!

I would recommend this prenatal class to anyone having a baby! The mechanics of childbirth are so much more complicated than I thought, but Brandie explained everything perfectly! We laughed, and learned so much! I definitely recommend the course, it is SO worth the investment!

Erin was very personable and shared her expertise freely and in a non-threatening way. The way she laid out the information and gave us room to ask questions and determine the best route for our own choices was so appreciated. Her quick responses to questions on the chat was also most welcome.
