As first time parents, we are wracked with questions and apprehensions to be the best parents we can be. Without courses like this, we would need to navigate a lot of disinformation and marketing on social media and be reliant on anecdotes from friends/family to assuage our concerns. Erin presented evidence-based current best practices in a calm, compassionate, and personalized way for the course attendees and empowered us in our parenting education. We are so grateful!

Bringing Baby Home was a practical, yet evidence-based course, to help expectant parents learn the ins and outs of the first year and beyond. An abundance of resources is presented to the participants in multiple formats - web-based, books, and also by using a hands-on approach. Hands-on introduction to both slings/carriers and diapers (disposable vs. multiple cloth) allows you sample products without the pressure of being in a store or purchasing a variety and figuring it out by trial and error. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable, approachable and encouraging. I would highly recommend this course as a step-above most baby courses!

I highly recommend the OCEA's Prenatal Class. As first time parents my husband and I had a lot to learn and this course was so helpful for us. We left class feeling like we are prepared for the birth of our baby. We were provided with all the tools and resources we need and our instructor was excellent. Thank you OCEA!

We had a great 6 weeks with Julia! We really enjoyed her facilitation of the prenatal class and topics/information presented and discussed. It was very helpful and informative. We really appreciated Julia's down-to-earth nature and very realistic views and presentation of the topics. Julia was very detailed but kept it light and realistic with no sugar coating :) - which is just what we needed!

The Pre Natal Class was very informative and both my husband and I really benefited from it. The instructor was very knowledgeable about all of the latest information, and provided lots of resources for where to get more information after the class if we need it. Great conversations and discussions, and I learned more than I expected! I look forward to taking other classes with Ottawa CEA, and I will definitely be recommending this organization to friends and family!

We had a wonderful experience during our online class session. Misty is incredibly knowledgeable and the curriculum is easy to understand for first time parents. It helps to learn beyond medical knowledge presented in a textbook. We left the training feeling much more at ease about the birthing process and have many resources to refer back to if needed. Of course! Ottawa CEA Pre Natal Class was the most informative source of information that I've come into contact with since getting pregnant! This isn't an old-fashioned, dry course that tells you not to smoke (because you should know that anyway), or shows you how to swaddle a baby. The information provided was up-to-date, reliable and relatable. The teaching method was objective, with no judgements of one's perferred method of childbirth. There was much more active learning than I had expected, but it never got overwhelming. The pacing was perfect for two days! The course gave me a clear idea of what it might be like to be in labour, and empowered me with information. I know feel as though I have actual tools that will help me prepare for the big day! I highly recommend this course for both soon-to-be parents, as my support partner also gained much knowledge from the course and feels more comfortable with being my support.

I highly recommend this course for all couples, especially those looking for a more natural birth experience, while also receiving valuable information on interventions. The instructor was incredibly helpful and put at ease a lot of our worries about some of the 'horror stories' and 'myths' surrounding labour and birth. All the information was educational and will be useful to us when our time comes. Her experience in the field was a valuable part of the teaching process and greatly appreciated.

Lilly was incredible, she shared the information that can appear as quite daunting in such a calm, humble matter. At no point did she make my husband and I feel overhwlemed by the information abd when information felt overhwhelming, she ensured to make the time to calm all of our worries and answer all our questions

Erin was absolutely amazing! The way she teaches is so engaging and funny and the two full days spent together over Zoom flew by. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and her approach was very open, kind, and non-judgmental.

We very much enjoyed the online OCEA pre-natal course and are glad we took it. We appreciated that our instructor presented unbiased information on the birth process that was specific to Ottawa hospitals. Even my partner who already has experience with childbirth and babies learned a few new things! Would recommend to other expecting parents.

Ottawa's CEA Pre Natal course helped prepare my husband and I for the birth of our child without being bias towards one method. The class was fun, interactive, and informative; every piece of material covered was useful and beneficial to us as beginner parents. The instructors are very knowledgable with not only the content but with the community as a whole--we learned of so many resources that Ottawa provides to parents-to-be that we would have never known about if it weren't for this class. We would highly recommend taking this course!

Lily was fabulous and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend the class and the instructor.

Before I took this prenatal class I was very nervous about the prospect of childbirth. This class taught me about all my options from pain relief, to breastfeeding, and most of all how to be an advocate for myself and my daughter. I now feel confident in my ability to give birth and feel less scared and more excited. Our educator was very kind and knowledgeable and gave a very non bias view on everything which I found most important and really helped my husband and I come up with a birth plan that is right for us.

Erin was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and kept the class interactive even in the online platform. Very helpful at answering questions and gave a lot of great tips.

Erin provided good information regarding on screen time with infants/children which is something that we have always been concerned about.
