People who took our online class had this to say:
Erin was absolutely phenomenal as a course facilitator and her knowledge of all subjects relating to the course was outstanding! She has a casual approach to many baby topics that would otherwise cause great (unnecessary) stress for parents-to-be. The combined experience of having her own family and working with new parents over the years adds an amazing wisdom that was so refreshing to see. It was too bad the course was online as I'm sure it would've been more engaging in person, overall I give it an A+.
Brandie was great! She was non-judgemental, calm, and made it all feel informative but not scary. We weren't sure what to expect and felt that we had an instructor who valued healthy mom, healthy baby and involved partner more than anything else. That was really important to us.
Erin was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and kept the class interactive even in the online platform. Very helpful at answering questions and gave a lot of great tips.
Of course! Ottawa CEA Pre Natal Class was the most informative source of information that I've come into contact with since getting pregnant! This isn't an old-fashioned, dry course that tells you not to smoke (because you should know that anyway), or shows you how to swaddle a baby. The information provided was up-to-date, reliable and relatable. The teaching method was objective, with no judgements of one's perferred method of childbirth. There was much more active learning than I had expected, but it never got overwhelming. The pacing was perfect for two days! The course gave me a clear idea of what it might be like to be in labour, and empowered me with information. I know feel as though I have actual tools that will help me prepare for the big day! I highly recommend this course for both soon-to-be parents, as my support partner also gained much knowledge from the course and feels more comfortable with being my support.
Ottawa CEA's classes are consistently informative and well thought-out. As a first time parent, I feel much more confident and empowered after taking classes with them.
Sure! Bringing Baby Home is an information packed course that is based on current research and the latest information. It has topics from car seats, to sleeping to eating and any question you could possibly ask is answered thoroughly. All parents will benefit from this class.
Really enjoyed this class. So informative! I would definitely recommend it to friends who are about to become new parents. Erin was an excellent instructor and did a great job presenting the information. Particularly amazing how quickly this class was adapted from in-class to online and how thorough and easy to follow it was. Our confidence as soon-to-be new parents has increased exponentially since taking this class. Thank you!
We really enjoyed Erin's class! Her style of teaching was really engaging and a nice departure from presentation-heavy classes. We also loved the interactive parts to try on our own baby wearing items, learning to swaddle, and getting to know the carseat. Great class!
We liked being able to following the course from our home. We also appreciated how flexible and understanding Erin was throughout.
I love the Bringing Home Baby class my husband and I attended. I would recommend it to any new or soon to be new parents. The information provided was very useful and balanced. I left feeling substantially more confidant than when I started! Thank you OCEA!
With so much conflicting information online for new parents, it can get overwhelming. We found OCEA classes just amazing, providing evidence-based information on everything from the labour process to bringing baby home. I would highly recommend the classes to all new parents!
The Bringing baby home class is an excellent course that equips you with the knowledge and resources to feel more confident going into new parenting. Highly recommend taking the course in your 2nd to 3rd trimester!
All expecting parents should attend this class to ensure they go into labour and delivery from an informed perspective. It was great to learn in an unbiased and non-judgmental manner from a teacher who has experienced childbirth.
Great use of zoom. Thank you.
Bringing Baby Home is like the Coles notes of parenting. It helps sum up what all the baby books Teach without any biased push on any one thing. It allows you test out each option and make your own informed decision on what will work best for you and your baby. Very impressed and well worth our time and money. Loved it.
We had a great 6 weeks with Julia! We really enjoyed her facilitation of the prenatal class and topics/information presented and discussed. It was very helpful and informative. We really appreciated Julia's down-to-earth nature and very realistic views and presentation of the topics. Julia was very detailed but kept it light and realistic with no sugar coating :) - which is just what we needed!
I was worried that due to the fact that information is so easily accessible online these days that this course would be a waste of time and money but I am extremely happy that we did it. The information we received was so clear and unbiased that we feel much more comfortable and well informed for whatever our birth may bring. Our educator was so knowledgeable and approachable, and really made us feel much more confident about the whole process. No regrets.
We were very impressed with the OCEA "Bringing Baby Home" course. It was well-paced and kept my attention, but also had enough time to ask questions and try some "hands-on" work such as straddling and baby-wearing. The instructor was fantastic and I left the class feeling much more confidant about what's to come. Perhaps most importantly, we gained the knowledge of where to go for help in the community and when to seek help.
I will be recommending this class to each of my friends who become pregnant! Lots of great information and no judgment. Thanks again!
The Bringing Home Baby Course have my husband and I the confidence we needed and are now more than ready to bring home our baby. The course reinforces your natural parenting instincts while offering some new insights along the way. Highly recommend!
My partner and I took a one-day condensed class and feel more prepared to recognize the stages of labour and techniques to cope when the time comes. I would suggest the course for anyone who wants to better understand the birthing process!
This class got my partner and I talking practically about becoming parents: Where will Baby sleep? How will we maximize our sleep? What items do we really need? What kind of diapers will we use? We were given information (i.e. the pros and cons) on so many issues and were left to make decisions that work best for us. I really appreciated the class and would recommend it to new parents who, like us, just don't know where to begin planning life for three.
