People who took our online class had this to say:
Amazing class! Very hands on and practical!
Julia was wonderful! She did a great job of making the information engaging and easily accessible for first time parents. She was really encouraging and inspiring!
I enjoyed the fact that we were at home, it made my wife more comfortable to be able to use our own bathroom and have snacks on hand etc. It also allowed us to must ourselves during the discussion and make comments to each other privately when an issues or decision that we wanted to discuss came up.
Lilly was fantastic and had a calm yet informative and empowering approach to educating our class on prenatal subjects. She was thorough and welcomed any questions we had, which created a very open and comfortable atmosphere for learning. My partner and I looked forward to our lessons and felt we benefiitted from them immensely.
It was interactive and live so we could ask questions as it went on and get instant feedback.
This course was provided via zoom and I don't feel like I missed out on anything by participating virtually. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and answered every question. I felt her sympathy for all of the birthing women during this COVID19 environment.
This course is extremely useful in helping you navigate the plethora of advice that will inadvertently be thrown your way when you are a new parent. The instructor walks you through myths and realities, essentials and non-essentials, patiently stopping to answer all of your questions along the way. The baby safety and CPR portion was great in helping me feel more prepared to have a little new life to be responsible for! Partners are also very much included in all activities and I really appreciated this - as mom to be won't be raising the child alone :)
Again thanks for all the work you've done to make the class accessible during this time and to update all the resources.
Before Covid-19, we both had very busy schedules and it was easier for us to sign up for one single day. We’ve also been reading a lot of books in preparation so we felt that a one day session would be ok. It definitely exceeding our expectations. I think my partner is much more ready for when I’m in labour as am I!
I liked the structure, and being muted at home meant my partner and I could talk about the information as we were learning it.
I would definitely recommend this class for anyone looking for an unbiased and non-judgemental perspective on childbirth and labour. Colette was a fabulous facilitator and made me feel at ease about my upcoming birth experience. Thank you so much!
She was fantastic. I really appreciated her non judgmental approach. She provided information in a scientific manner, without inserting a personal bias.
The one-day condensed course was a great preparation for giving birth and breastfeeding for both mom and dad! We left feeling more prepared and knowledgeable and armed with more resources for future readings.
Misty was great! It's obvious that she's passionate about labour and birth, and she approaches all topics with tons of knowledge and absolutely no judgment. It was a pleasure to take this course with her!
Bring Baby Home presented important information that helped my husband and I feel more prepared for our baby's arrival. The class set expectations accordingly around "stuff" baby will need and cleared up any old wives tales that surrounded topics such as: breastfeeding, solids, food allergies and swaddling.
I really enjoyed learning with Erin, she was great at presenting information and making it digestible for first-time parents like myself who might be a bit nervous on what's to come! I signed up my husband to join me (he is a primary care physician who has a lot of base knowledge on babies). He listened in to the class, and agreed that Erin was a great teacher and presented information on feeding, nursing and health-related info really nicely for first time parents. Thanks, Erin!
CEA's Pre Natal course was informative and allowed my husband and I to walk away feeling more confident in the stages of pregnancy and labour ahead of us, our options and how to prepare for all the next steps. It also alleviated a lot of my fear around labour and made me feel more in control of my choices and confident in my body. Overall it was a fantastic course, clearly offered by someone educator and passionate about the material. We will definitely be suggesting it to our friends when they are expecting!
The educator, Erin, was so friendly, kind, and easy to talk to. She did an excellent job and we really enjoyed seeing her on Tuesdays :)
My husband and I really enjoyed the prenatal class. We left feeling armed with an abundance of knew information and we now feel more confident to be able to advocate for ourselves during the childbirth process. We also feel less nervous about childbirth knowing more about what to expect. I definitely recommend this class!
The virtual prenatal class my husband and I took through the OCEA was an excellent experience! Useful and insightful information was presented in a thoughtful and organised fashion and we were also given additional resources upon completion of the course. There was time to ask questions over the duration of the course and the instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and able to offer examples of the situations she was discussing. I would highly recommend this course to any first time parents.
Honestly, it was easily one of the best online courses I have taken. The size of the group was perfect. I still felt connected to the instructor and the participants. Lilly did a great job of making us all feel included and part of the class, despite there be a screen between us. I don't have anything bad to say about it.
It really prepared us for the journey we are about to experience, we highly recommend everyone who is going to have their babies to take this prenatal sessions. Removes the fears and unknowns about childbirth. Being able to share your knowledge and experiences with the other new parents in the class was very helpful.
