Is Spring Fever a real thing? OCEA's Spring newsletter

March 30, 2025, 7:24 p.m.

Is Spring Fever a real thing?
At OCEA, we can relate to feeling excitement and hope thanks to longer daylight hours and warmer weather. Some of our teachers have noted planning gardens, getting out for long walks, and puddle jumping with their children.

Our class registrations have been vibrating! If you recommended our OCEA Prenatal class to a friend, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! OCEA Prenatal classes are almost full into mid-May.
We are currently looking for an additional accessible rental space that can accommodate last-minute classes.

DID YOU KNOW???

If you don't find a class that fits with your schedule, we tailor Private Classes specific to your needs. Available online and in-person, we meet you where you are at, and bring props ;)

Our top Spring Fever tips:
    • Get Outside to benefit from the sunlight and fresh air. Did you know that your baby may sleep better if they have been out twice a day.
    • Notice Nature and see life sprouting around us.
    • Move your Body for a quick physical activity energy booster.
    • Fuel yourself with fresh foods when possible.
    • Make plans and dream up something fun to do.
    • Say hello to a neighbour.. or better yet, use your baby to make new parent & baby friends.

Our Infant Sleep Class is designed to create a space for parents to follow their instincts when it comes to their new baby, setting the stage for optimal brain development. We emphasize that it's normal for babies to wake up during the night and that there are valid reasons for this behaviour. Our goal is to share the other side of the sleep story!

In this class, we will:

  • Identify individual and family needs.
  • Create support systems to help you feel more rested.
  • Provide a safe place for parents to share stories that support evidence-based sleep patterns.

We will also address the impact of social media pressures and the unregulated infant sleep industry, which often create unrealistic expectations about newborn and baby sleep. Our focus is on finding ways to celebrate this busy time in your life while developing strategies for self-care.

Babies are welcome and encouraged to attend class. Join us from anywhere across Canada for four-morning sessions.

Upcoming Session:

Dates: Monday, April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19, 2025 9AM - 10:15 AM (Online via Zoom)
Cost: $75 CAD per couple
